Vehicles are among the largest contributors of greenhouse gas emissions. Rail transit will remove more than 40,000 cars and trucks off our highways and roads by 2030, reducing our island’s carbon footprint.

Rail transit will help us in the fight against global warming.

Lowering carbon emissions will help counteract global warming. A 2009 White House report found global climate change may cause potentially severe consequences for Hawaii and other Pacific islands:  “A rising sea level and frequent storms are likely to threaten future generations of islanders unless strong preparations are made to minimize global warming.”
